Working tubes and reactors

For HTM's LOSA, LOBA and LORA tube furnace models where the heating conductor is wound directly around a ceramic or quartz heater support tube, the heater support tube itself can be used as working tube.
For other furnaces, HTM offers working tubes and reactors made of different materials, and with nearly any diameter and length.

Working tubes made of ceramics

  • Different qualities of alumina (Al2O3) ceramics for temperatures up to 1800 °C;
  • Aluminum nitride (AlN) ceramics for temperatures up to 2000 °C;
  • Nearly any diameter and length (up to 1000 mm) available;
  • Working tubes consisting of joint segments (for long tube lengths and to compensate temperature gradients), with leakage rates < 1*10-4 mbar*l/sec;

  • Machined tube surfaces and tube ends to attach seals;

  • Tubes with one end closed.

Working tubes and reactors made of quartz glass

  • For working temperatures up to 1200 °C;

  • Nearly any diameter and length (up to 1000 mm) available;

  • Additional quartz parts can be fused to the tube/reactor, e.g. to position thermocouples;
  • Gas inlet and outlet, vacuum connection etc.;

  • Customized reactor shapes.


Working tubes made of refractory metal alloys

  • Stainless steel, nickel compounds such as INCONEL or HASTELLOY;
  • For working temperatures up to 1200 °C.

Up to temperatures of 1400 °C, the ceramic material is gas tight and suited for vacuum;
2 end flanges are fixed onto the ground surface of the tube ends, a rod seal between working tube and flange seals the tube vacuum tight.

Working tube made of stainless steel 1.4841, with a length of 1000 mm;
End flanges mounted onto the tube ends;
Ceramic spacers center the tube in the furnace and keep it in a defined distance to the heating winding.
